Overlooking the lovely Cala di Volpe Bay, on the fashionable Costa Smeralda, this five-star deluxe hotel offers its guests the ultimate in understated elegance and immaculate good taste.
Its designer, the renowned French architect Jacques Couelle, reputedly loves being asked what the Cala di Volpe was before it became a hotel, such is the design of this exquisite building, resembling a 15th century castle, with its truncated towers and low-eaved roofs, all blending beautifully into the surrounding landscape of distant mountains, translucent seas and white beaches. The beautiful Cala di Volpe beach is just a 15-minute stroll away, or five minutes by complimentary shuttle boat. Each of the guest room has a private terrace overlooking the sea, with natural wood furnishings and traditional textiles.
RESTAURANTS & BARS
Dine at the ‘Cala di Volpe Restaurant’, overlooking the hotel’s private jetty, and sample the delights of typical Sardinian and Mediterranean dishes, lovingly prepared by the celebrated chef Maurizio Locatelli.
After dinner, relax in one of the hotel’s three bars, perhaps ‘Il Pontile’, which overlooks the bay and offers live piano music in a sophisticated yet relaxed setting.
For lunch, the seasonal ‘Barbeque Restaurant’ offers a tempting buffet of Mediterranean specialities, beside the largest saltwater pool in Europe, just a few steps from the sea.
The ‘Dine Around’ programme is open to full board guests, who can enjoy dining at the Cala Di Volpe’s sister hotels Romazzino, Pitrizza and Cervo.
For the sports enthusiast, the hotel boasts an olympic-sized saltwater swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness centre and three tennis courts. Water-skiing is available in the bay and the world-renowned Pevero Golf Club is just a few minute’s drive away. A hairdresser, beauty/massage salon, boutique and gift shop, are also at the guests’ disposal.
For younger guests, the "Toy Club" (age 3-11yrs) has dedicated staff and offers a private playground, mini-golf and three small pools.
With its impeccable service and low-key sophistication, the Cala di Volpe offers a truly luxurious experience for the discerning guest.
'This is my 4th consecutive year in Cala di Volpe. In my opinion is an amazing hotel to relax and enjoy the beach. The service is amazing with all the staff very careful and helpful. Special notes to the lunch restaurant and service, which has a variety of special ingredients/ fresh products and also you can choose to have whatever is on your mind. The rooms are spacious and clean and the gym center is well equipped. Definitely recommend and I am already waiting for next season.' Thais - September 2015
'Admittedly I was working but the Staff were truly wonderful, the setting is magnificent. The Concierge were very helpful and instantly responsive to some of our guests strange requests, nothing was too much trouble. Good old fashioned manners served with kindness and consideration and always with a smile.' H. - July 2015
'Having travelled extensively throughout the world, I came to a conclusion that this seems to be the best large hotel in the world. I think the hotel is placed in a perfect location, with service at a highest possible level. Quality of the food is really unique (if you like simple and freshest italian food). All in all I can't name a better place in the world.' A. - July 2015
'Luxurious and calm, we came in June , seems to be a really good time to be there. The weather is 25-28C , not too many tourists. The hotel is gorgeous, authentic ambiance, unique laguna location. The staff is very courteous, attentive, always there when you need them, but not imposing. We had a car and travelled all along the magnificent Costa Smeralda, the place is full of incredible prehistoric archeological sites. Highly recommended!' M. - June 2015
